NSW: Man 'serious' after being stabbed by teenager

SYDNEY, Dec 7 AAP - A man is in serious condition after being stabbed by a teenager
outside a southern NSW club.

A number of fights broke out after a large number of people left a club in Baylis Street,
Wagga Wagga, at about 3am (AEDT) on Sunday, police said.

During one of the fights, a 16-year-old youth punched an 18-year-old man in the head
several times.

The teenager was then involved in a second altercation with a 21-year-old man who was
stabbed twice in the chest.

The youth fled, chased by several other man, before police stunned him with a Taser
gun, arrested and disarmed him.

A 16-year-old youth has been charged with recklessly causing grievous bodily harm,
assault occasioning actual bodily harm and custody of a knife.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Wagga Wagga Children's Court on Monday.

The 18-year-old man suffered bruising to both eyes while the 21-year-old man was admitted
to hospital for the stab wounds where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Inquiries into the incident continue.
