It saddens me that once again the CTA has made plans to raise itsfares. We, the riders, are never even considered.
I wonder if the CTA has ever considered charging CTA personnelfor riding on the CTA. I am confident that if everybody who steppedon the CTA had to pay, it would not be in debt. Government employeesdo not receive free government benefits, and individuals working instores do not receive free merchandise. CTA personnel should not bereceiving the free rides, either.
It is bad enough that we have to endure the nasty attitudes ofsome CTA drivers and the unreliability of the CTA.
Before CTA thinks of raising fares, it should consider what theriders …
